PUTIN MEETS IRAN’S TOP SECURITY OFFICIAL REZAEI AT THE KREMLIN AMID RISING REGIONAL TENSIONS
Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei at the Kremlin in Moscow, highlighting continued high-level contacts between Russia and Iran amid escalating tensions involving Tehran, Washington and regional powers.
The meeting comes at a particularly sensitive moment for the Middle East, as Iran faces mounting pressure over the Strait of Hormuz, its nuclear programme, U.S. military deployments and the possibility of renewed military confrontation.
Russia and Iran have maintained close strategic cooperation in recent years, particularly in military, security, diplomatic and economic affairs. Moscow has repeatedly opposed Western pressure on Tehran and called for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts.
The meeting could provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss regional security developments, the ongoing U.S.–Iran standoff and the future of their strategic partnership.
The Kremlin has not yet provided further details about the specific agenda or outcomes of the reported meeting.
