RAMAPHOSA EXPLAINS WHY THE GOVERNMENT DEPLOYED THE ARMY IN COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY GANG VIOLENCE — SANDF SENT IN TO REINFORCE POLICE AND HELP RESTORE SAFETY!

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the government deployed the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) through Operation Prosper to support police in areas struggling with gang violence.

He explained that the deployment followed calls from communities for stronger intervention as residents continue to face the threat of shootings and gang-related crime.

The soldiers are intended to reinforce law enforcement efforts while police work to tackle criminal activity and improve safety in affected neighbourhoods.

Ramaphosa also highlighted the work of the Madlanga Commission and government efforts to address corruption and strengthen the police service.

🇿🇦 For residents living in gang-affected communities, the key question is whether this intervention will bring lasting change, fewer shootings and safer streets.

🔥 Do you believe deploying the army will help restore peace in South African communities, or should government focus more on strengthening the police and the justice system?
