NAKACINDA ORDERED TO ACCOUNT

THE Lusaka High Court has ordered former MMD faction national secretary Raphael Nakacinda to account for the former ruling party’s motor vehicles, which were given to late President Rupiah Banda.

Judge Pixie Yangailo, who also validated Mr Nakacinda’s expulsion from the MMD, ruled that the politician should account for the cars alongside all members of the illegal MMD national executive committee (NEC).

“The MMD motor vehicles so accounted for shall be retrieved from the estate of the fourth republican President [Mr Banda] and delivered to the MMD secretariat.

“In the event that the legal ownership of the vehicles has been transferred to third parties, Mr Nakacinda and members of the illegal MMD NEC shall be liable to account for the monetary value of the vehicles.

“The plaintiff shall account for the proceeds of the sales, exchanges, change of ownership and for the physical transfer of the MMD motor vehicles that he effected,” Judge Yangailo, who also validated Mr Nakacinda’s 2020 expulsion from MMD, said in a judgment dated November 11, 2024.

  1. The sins of some men are obvious reaching the place of judgement ahead of them. The sins of others trail behind them.

Mr. Nakachinda contributed to the demise of MMD with the active support of Mr. Rupiah Banda and Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu. For his work of destruction, he was rewarded with a cabinet position in the PF government by Mr. Lungu.

Well, his sins have finally caught up with him.
