RUSSIA DISGUISES FUEL TANKERS AS ORDINARY TRUCKS IN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES
Russian forces are disguising fuel tankers as ordinary cargo trucks in the occupied territories, reportedly surrounding their cylindrical tanks with frames and flat panels to make them more difficult for Ukrainian drone operators to identify from above.
Fuel tankers are valuable targets because destroying one vehicle can deprive numerous Russian vehicles, generators and military positions of the fuel needed to operate. Concealing them among ordinary-looking trucks is an attempt to protect that increasingly vulnerable supply chain.
The adaptation comes as Ukraine applies pressure at both ends of Russia’s fuel network. Long-range strikes are repeatedly targeting refineries, storage facilities and distribution terminals inside Russia, while Ukrainian drones hunt the tanker trucks carrying fuel toward the front.
The disguise does not prove that every Russian unit is experiencing a fuel shortage, but it reveals how seriously Moscow now treats the threat. Russia is being forced to spend more time, equipment and manpower protecting supplies it once transported openly.
Make no mistake: Russia is feeling the cumulative cost. Ukrainian strikes are forcing its military to adapt one tanker, one depot and one refinery at a time.
