Russia Unveils Nerekhta-E Unmanned Combat Robot for Reconnaissance, Combat and Medical Evacuation

Russia’s state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec has unveiled the Nerekhta-E, an unmanned ground combat vehicle designed to conduct reconnaissance, engage ground and aerial threats, and evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield.

The modular robotic platform can be configured for different missions, including surveillance, armed combat and medical evacuation.

Key specifications:

* Weapons: A 12.7mm heavy machine gun, with options for a 30mm automatic grenade launcher or anti-tank guided missiles.

* Maximum speed: 20 km/h.

* Operating endurance: Up to four hours while moving and up to 20 hours in reconnaissance mode.

* Payload capacity: Up to 1,000 kg.

According to Rostec, the Nerekhta-E is the first Russian unmanned ground combat vehicle to successfully complete large-scale official trials.

Alexander Mikheev, director general of Rosoboronexport, said the platform was developed around modern warfare requirements, emphasizing reduced risks to personnel, network-centric capabilities and the use of artificial intelligence.

The system is intended to expand Russia’s use of robotic platforms for battlefield operations while reducing soldiers’ exposure to danger.
