According to eyewitness accounts, a hostile drone was observed over central Kyiv before sirens sounded, while adjacent regions did not issue warnings either. Ukrainian analysts say this contradicts established detection patterns and indicates that existing radar and electronic-warfare layers may have been bypassed or degraded.
Electronic-warfare specialists believe the incident may involve the BM-35 strike drone, a platform first identified in 2025 and already used in attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Dnipro.
