SACCORD CALLS FOR POLICE UPDATE ON SECURITY MEASURES AT KEY GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS

The Southern African Centre for The Constructive Resolution of Disputes-SACCORD- has urged the Zambia Police Service to provide the public with an update on the security situation and measures being implemented at key government institutions across the country.
The Zambia Police Service recently announced that it is conducting intelligence-led security risk assessments at key government premises across the country, including institutions under the Ministry of Justice.
SACCORD Executive Director Arthur Muyunda says timely information from the police is critical to keeping the public informed, calm and vigilant amid reports of security concerns around institutions including the courts
Mr. Muyunda has also urged members of the public to support security agencies by identifying and reporting individuals who may pose security risks in their communities, while cautioning against targeting innocent people.
He says citizens have a critical role to play in maintaining national security by providing information that could help security agencies detect and prevent potential threats.
