SUHULU WINS 85.4% OF TANZANIA POLLS
Tanzania’s National Electoral Commission has declared President Samia Suluhu Hassan the official President-Elect, securing 85.4% of the vote in a race where she ran virtually unopposed.
This marks Suluhu’s first full elected term (2025–2030), solidifying her position as the nation’s first female president, a role she first assumed in 2021 following the passing of former President John Magufuli.
Her victory signals continuity but also raises questions about the strength of opposition politics in Tanzania and what her next five years could mean for governance, economic reform, and women’s representation in African leadership.
