Sean Tembo benefits from UPND free education policy

FACEBOOK politician Sean Tembo on Saturday became part of the thousands of learners benefitting from the UPND free education policy as Vice-President Mutale Nalumango, a teacher by profession spared some time to tutor the Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) owner in English phraseology.

As a presidential candidate in the 2021 general elections, Tembo did not get enough votes to win him a monitor’s position at Community School in Lundazi but this has not stopped him from being a loud mouthed critic of President Hakainde Hichilema’s government.

Using Facebook, Tembo has gone in auto condemn mode criticising everyone and everything associated with the new dawn government.

So, in his usual non-issue checks and balances, Tembo decided to criticise the Vice-President for what he believed was wrong English when she posted a message of sympathy towards the victims of yesterday’s Lusaka fuel tanker accident that injured four.

According to Tembo, there is zero correctness in saying “caught alight”.

“W. K Mutale Nalumango, “caught alight” is not correct English, your Honour. Its either “caught fire” or “Became alight”, Tembo wrote in the comments section of the Vice-President’s page.

And within a few minutes, Vice-President Nalumango responded with a lesson of her own.

“Sean E Tembo Mwana wandi, check your facts again, I am a teacher and I read Thesaurus not Collins Dictionary,” Nalumango responded with a screenshot shot a dictionary explanation.

Judging from Tembo’s response to the Vice-President’s lesson, there is now way he would replicate the political dismal performance of scoring zeros if he sat for an English examination!
