SHOCKING QUESTIONS AS VICE PRESIDENT CONSTANTINO CHIWENGA WAS NOT SEEN AT WICKNELL CHIVAYO’S FUNERAL WHILE PRESIDENT EMMERSON MNANGAGWA, VICE PRESIDENT KEMBO MOHADI, SENIOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, BUSINESS LEADERS AND THOUSANDS OF MOURNERS PAID THEIR LAST RESPECTS

The absence of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has sparked intense debate on social media, with many Zimbabweans linking it to his past criticism of wealthy and politically connected business figures. Chiwenga previously warned against individuals who accumulate vast wealth while ordinary citizens struggle with unemployment, poverty and rising living costs.

Some social media users have pointed to his past remarks about so-called “zvigananda” and his warnings that certain wealthy elites were enriching themselves while failing to invest in job creation and community development. Others argue that money should be used to help uplift communities, create opportunities for young people and support the poor rather than being spent on luxury lifestyles.

Despite widespread speculation, no official reason has been given for Chiwenga’s absence, and there has been no confirmation that it was linked to any disagreement with Wicknell Chivayo.

The funeral was attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vice President Kembo Mohadi, senior government officials, political leaders, business figures and thousands of mourners who gathered to pay their final respects.

Do you think Zimbabwe’s wealthy business elites should focus more on creating jobs and helping communities, or is it their right to spend their money however they choose?
