SIKOTA TO BE INTERRED ON MONDAY
VETERAN politician Sikota Wina will be buried on Monday at his Nawinda farm in Mwandi, Western Province, next to his late wife, Princess Nakatindi.
Mr Wina died on Wednesday aged 90. Family spokesperson Fredrick Wamulume says Mr Wina’s body will lie in state at his Chilanga residence in readiness for a requiem mass on Sunday at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Wamulume said Mr Wina’s body will then be flown to Mwandi for burial. “I want to make it clear that this is a state funeral and what I have given you is a tentative programme as Cabinet will issue official statements.
“As family, we will surely miss our big man because he was our pillar and strength and I want to ask Zambians to remember bo Wina as a selfless man who sacrificed all he had for all Zambians regardless of tribe .
