SILENCE BY SOME CABINET MINISTERS PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE PRESIDENCY
By Chileshe Mwango
The Democratic Governance and Human Rights Advocates -DEGHA- has challenged cabinet ministers to come out from an enclosure and begin to address various matters affecting the country.
Organization National Coordinator Gerald Mutelo observes that the majority of serving ministers remain quiet while people are waiting for answers and solutions to the many challenges they are currently experiencing.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Mutelo has reminded the affected ministers that the president cannot be everywhere to explain government policies and programmes hence the reason they were appointed.
Mr. Mutelo says there is need for the ministers to go on the ground, interact with the people and listen for themselves to some of their concerns.
There has been growing concern from some sections of society on the quietness of some ministers on serious national issues resulting in the creation of the information gap.
