SIR WICKNELL CHIVAYO STEPS IN TO RESCUE AILING LUPANE UNIVERSITY STUDENT
HARARE — Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has stepped in to assist a 24-year-old Lupane State University student who is battling severe injuries after a serious accident.
Final-year student Nkosingilile Clemency Ndlovu sustained multiple jaw fractures and is reportedly in severe pain, surviving on liquids while awaiting surgery.
According to an appeal circulated by the family, Ndlovu requires surgery, titanium plates and anaesthesia, with the estimated medical bill standing at US$4,900.
Chivayo has now donated US$10,000 towards the student’s recovery.
Chivayo said the money would be deposited tomorrow, Monday, at 8:30am, while wishing Ndlovu a speedy recovery.
The intervention comes after an appeal for assistance from well-wishers, organisations and members of the public to help settle the student’s hospital bills and get him the surgery he needs.
The US$10,000 donation is more than double the US$4,900 estimated cost outlined in the family’s appeal, potentially leaving additional funds available for related medical and recovery expenses.
