I knew l risked earning for myself insults and the charge that I am spoiling HH’s “glorious moment”, but democracies are built to protect divergent views and cannot survive without them. I think Europeans had previously not heard HH’s playlist played, so they thought it was new.

Those praising the speech have the right to do so, just like those with contrary views. And that is exactly what we need for our democracy to flourish: critical or divergent views.
