Two Choma residents have called on their Member of Parliament, Cornelius Mweetwa to step down if he has failed to develop the district.
One of the residents, Jerald Sichibalo tells Byta FM News that from the time Mweetwa was elected, he has not implemented any developmental works despite this being his third time.
Sichibalo shares that the MP would give excuses for being in opposition, but says nothing seems to change even after forming government.
He laments that Choma, being the provincial capital for the Southern region has nothing to show it apart from deplorable roads and dilapidated buildings.
And another resident, Masauso Banda, recalls that Mweetwa had promised to transform the district once the party is voted into government, however saying nothing is changing.
Banda has since questioned why MY HOME TOWN Organization should be left to work on government’s behalf in implementing developmental projects in the district.
Earlier, Mweetwa, who is also Southern Province Minister assured community members that the district will soon get a facelift.
He noted that road works had been delayed following the just-ended rainy season.
