STEP FATHER IN COURT FOR ALLEGEDLY FONDLING EIGHT YEAR OLD STEP DAUGHTER
The Choma Magistrate Court has set 9th February, 2023 for judgment in a matter in which Chrispine Mweemba is accused of fondling his lover’s eight year-old daughter on a hospital bed.
Byta FMs Womba Kasela reports that Mweemba aged 28 of Siamalichukila village in Mbabala constituency stands charged with one count of indecent assault on a child.
Particulars of the offence are that the accused person did indecently assault a child by fondling her private parts while she was admitted to the Choma General Hospital Children’s ward on the 6th of January, 2023.
When called to take a plea before the court, the accused person denied the charge which lead to five state witnesses testifying in the matter.
And when put on his defense, the accused person admitted laying on the girl’s hospital bed, but says that he was playing with his phone and not the child’s private parts while covered in the bedsheets.
He accused the nurse who was on duty the material day of falsely accusing him of indecently assaulting his step-daughter because he confronted her over her failure to administer drugs to the child.
The accused person added that he has stayed with the child’s mother since 2017 when the girl was still young and would sometimes remain alone with her when the mother is away.
After the close of defense, resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri set 9th February 2023 for judgment.
