‘STOP DREAMING!
….Veep Nalumango fires back at Kampyongo over Cabinet and Budget defence

By DAVID KANDUZA
VICE President Mutale Nalumango today, October 23, 2026, sharply rebuked Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo on the floor of the National Assembly of Zambia, declaring that the Cabinet is fully functional and not a product of opposition ‘dreams’

The fiery exchange erupted during parliamentary proceedings when Mr Kampyongo questioned how the upcoming national Budget, scheduled for presentation next week, would be effectively defended if a complete Cabinet was allegedly not in position.

Dismissing the opposition lawmaker’s assertions, Vice President Nalumango assured the House that the executive arm of Government was perfectly intact, structurally sound and entirely prepared to steer the legislative approval of the State’s financial plan.

Shifting her focus to national security and governance, Vice President Nalumango further condemned a segment of civil society that had raised grievances over the arrest of a fugitive.

She charged that certain members of these civil society groupings have shown themselves to be ardent followers of lawbreakers who have issued explicit threats against the life of President Hakainde Hichilema.

The Vice President re-emphasised that the Government would not tolerate public individuals or civil entities aiding, abetting, or concealing fugitives who undermined national stability.
