Tanker Hit by Drone Off Oman, Two Indian Sailors Missing
The Nicaragua-flagged oil tanker MT Petro Dolphin was struck by a drone at Sohar Anchorage off Oman on October 11, leaving two Indian crew members missing.
Nine of the 11 Indian seafarers aboard the vessel were rescued and reported safe. Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing, with Omani authorities coordinating efforts to locate the missing crew members.
The attack adds to growing security concerns for commercial shipping around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy supplies.
Responsibility for the strike has not been independently established, and the incident remains under investigation.
