TEACHERS PETITION HH OVER SALARIES

By Darius Choonya

Some Teachers who have not been put on payroll, years after their deployment, have petitioned President Hakainde Hichilema to intervene into their matter, accusing authorities at the Teaching Service Commission of failing to resolve their plight.

The affected teachers say life has not been easy amid the harsh economy.

In an interview with Diamond News, one of the affected teachers Boyd Milala says authorities have taken them for granted by not addressing their issues.

Mr. Milala has also challenged the Teaching Service Commission to arrest people who might have been involved in the issuance of the letters of appointment if at all they are fake letters.

But in an interview with Diamond News, the Teaching Service Commission secretary Zachariah Luhanga says investigations are still ongoing on the matter.- Diamond TV
