THE CHILD WHO SURVIVED THE NSAMA ACCIDENT DESPITE SITTING NEXT TO HER MOTHER WHO DIED ON THE SPOT

Mweene Muyanga II writes: “Her Mother Died On Spot! So yesterday went on an assignment for the Vice President Mrs. Nalumango, She went to visit some victims who survived the UCZ accident at the University Teaching Hospitals UTH.

We went in various wards to console them, pray with and encourage them. But when we reached the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) I was broken! And my emotions were weakened, we found this 6 year old little girl who survived the accident battling for her life, in her unconscious state the fidgeting could tell that she was in pain, her mother unfortunately died on spot. My heart was moved I almost broke in tears but stayed strong for the camera in my hands and the other intensive care patients I saw.

Let’s pray for this little Girl, May God preserve her life to tell the story, and may He ease her pain..

Most of the Times we take life for granted, the same modes of transport we use, same roads same traffic rules, yet we have always reached our destinations, but our friends destinations are graves on the same road, let’s learn to be grateful to God for always preserving our lives, let’s live each day as if it were our last because one day we will be right. #JournalistOfTheGospel “

And Chomba Kanjela Mulenga writes: “Wow! I’m so happy this baby has survived. Her head was really swollen as she was being evacuated from Mpulungu hospital. Her mum is believed to be among the dead.”

  1. How long shall we mourn?
How many more deaths must we record before we do something drastic about our poor road safety record?
How many more orphans must be created before we take road safety seriously?
For how long are we going to entertain careless and dangerous drivers on our roads?
How long are we going to remain reactive to road safety issues?
What will it take for us to become road Safety Ambassadors who PROACTIVELY address road safety needs?
What will it take for us as a nation to stop carrying passengers in vehicles meant for carrying goods? How long are we going to mourn because people died when a truck or pickup flipped and killed people?
How long will it take for us to appreciate the importance of a seatbelt? Haven’t we come to the understanding that Seatbelts save lives?
Do we know how dangerous our roads are for night driving? No reflective road makings, no reflective delineators, drivers who don’t understand the importance of dimming lights when approaching another on-coming vehicle?
Do we appreciate the danger of driving between midnight and 06:00am when our biological clock is in deep sleep mode? Have you had an experience of dosing off behind the wheel? Do you appreciate how lucky you were to wake up safe after dosing behind the wheel? Do you realize that many were not so fortunate to wake up after dozing off behind the wheel but perished in their microsleep?
Did you know that there is nothing urgent about Funerals to warrant the risk of travelling overnight especially after a busy day at work? Are you aware that many have died while trying to hurriedly travel for funerals? Why travel in the night when you can safely start off in the morning?
Never again should we have such a preventable tragedy!
RTSA, start doing your job better to prevent further carnage on our roads! Road Safety has two components: Education and Enforcement!
If you need help please we have so many Safety Officers in the Mines who can help promote and enforce Road Safety!
Let’s be Proactive and actively collaborate with those responsible for building and marking roads!
We must stop using the wrong fading paint when painting our roads! The paint must be applied using the correct equipment and technique!
Every life counts on the road!

  2. May God Almighty ‘s grace and healing power prevail upon our dear child and those who are sick. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with our nation. Let’s love and help one another and show compassion for the needy. Whatever, we labour for here on earth is temporary and does not belong to us. I have never seen a dead person being buried with whole his or her possessions in a grave.

We are on a journey, the journey leads to two destinations it is either you are preparing and heading to heaven or going to hell. Choose eternal life by going to heaven and living by seeking God’s kingdom and his righteousness as a first priority in a genuine manner. Brethren I encourage you to read the following Scriptures John 3:16, 2 Chronicles 30:9, 1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19, Proverbs 28:13, 2 Peter 3:9, 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Joel 2:13. May God Almighty bless his holy words Amen!
