ICOZ TELLS LUNGU TO STEP DOWN FROM ACTIVE POLITICS
The Independent Churches of Zambia -ICOZ- has asked former President EDGAR LUNGU to step down from active politics and take the role of a statesman.
ICOZ President DAVID MASUPA has appealed to those fronting the former President to avoid doing so and allow him to retire from active politics.
Speaking during a media briefing ahead of the National Day of Prayer, fasting and reconciliation which falls on October 18th, Bishop MASUPA said the church will continue to take an active role to promote peace and reconciliation in the country.
And National Day of Prayer Chairperson ESTHER JANI encouraged Christians to reflect on prayer and recognize hard work for national development.
And Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia -EFZ- Executive Director ANDREW MWENDA appealed to youths intending to hold a demonstration on the high cost of living on the 18th to select another day.
Meanwhile Patriotic Front Chairperson for information and Publicity EMMANUEL MWAMBA has maintained that Former President EDGAR LUNGU is not coming back into politics.
Mr. MWAMBA told ZNBC News yesterday that Mr LUNGU should be allowed to rest and enjoy his retirement and not be dragged into politics.
