The KILLING OF CHIFUBU SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT, VICTOR MUSHABATI DURING THE CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING COMPETITION
In 1992, a student at chifubu secondary school in Ndola was kidnapped and killed during the cross country running competition.
I believe his name to have been Victor Mushabati. He lived in chifubu. During the competition, Mushabati was in first position and was ahead of the second placed runner by miles.
When the second placed runner finished running, he told the school that he had not won, but Mushanbati who was in front of him. The school immediately instituted the search.
In the days that followed, chifubu secondary school pupils completely demolished the settlement, Nyamba which was next to the school with all chickens slaughted. Mushabati’s body was later found with body parts missing.
