THE UPND HAS SOLD OUT- THE NEW DEDUCTIBLE TAX FOR MINES IS A RIP OFF
After sitting down with our team of experts to analyse the new deductible tax for the mines, where the mines will only pay tax from their profits, I have come to the conclusion that this government has sold out. And so sad to sell out the country just from the first budget. Whether the mines made loses or not, we used to get our tax. But with the new deductible tax, we will only get tax from profits.
So if they say that they never made any profits that particular year, as most mines like to lie, we won’t be getting our monies as Zambia. This is a time when even the windfall tax should have been introduced so that the country benefits from the high copper prices, but instead this elitist ruling party that we have now has decided to side with the rich cooperations instead of the poor Zambians.
So once again, instead of putting in place a plan where we make our own money and pay our own bills, we have sold out our rich mineral resources and will instead go for loans. AND please don’t tell me that this is an innocent mistake, people know what they are doing but they would rather make tones of money for themselves and their friends than do the right thing for the country. AND how come their brains were able to see clearly in the opposition, but now this is what they think is best for the country????….
