THE UPND’S 2022 NATIONAL BUDGET IS A MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH – HON. CHITOTELA

… says it is unattainable and far from being called a national budget.

Pambashe member of parliament Hon. Ronald Chitotela says the UPND national budget presented by finance minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane to parliament was a motivational speech.

Speaking when he featured on Kawambwa’s Lukwanga fm Hon. Chitotela who is also former Tourism and Arts Minister said the UPND proposed 2022 budget failed short of being called a national budget.

Hon.Chitotela said the budget is unattainable and unrealistic.

” Unfortunately Dr. Musokotwane could not even agree with what he was reading except what he said off calf when he said he was struggling to pay civil servants among issues,” Hon.Chitotela said.

And Hon. Chitotela said finance minister indicated that his Government plans to locally raise K 98 billion and yet presented a budget worth K 173 billion and relying on foreign aid to meet the deficit.

Meanwhile, Hon. Chitotela said Government should have prioritised increasing salaries for civil servants by K1,500 as promised during campaigns rather than employing the 44,000 more workers.

He said the move with result in a recurring annual wage bill of USD$ 2 billion meaning more borrowing by the government and will make the delivery of other essential services impossible.

And Hon. Chitotela said the PF remains stronger and united despite losing the August polls.

He also advised those aspiring for party the presidency to do so without injuring other contenders characters.

Hon. Chitotela also indicated that he was not one of the people aspiring for the PF top job.
