There is no special package for UPND supporters says Mweetwa
Minister of Information and Media, Cornelius Mweetwa says UPND has no special package for its supporters.
Mweetwa says that government’s a mandate is to provide opportunities for all its citizens and not based of favouritism.
“It is abnormal for supporters of the ruling party to think that they should be given special treatment in accessing opportunities that government renders”, he says .
He adds that, if government continues to create favouritism for it’s supporters, they should be ready to be disadvantaged when the Upnd leaves office, hence the need to treat everyone equally.
“The period of government being in office lies in the hands of the voters, therefore, people are misquoting the vice president when she said we will be in office for 50 years when it was just a joke”, Mweetwa further says.
Mweetwa has further disclosed that supporters should know that what is good for them under government should as well be good for them in opposition.
