THERE’S ANXIETY IN UKA – SAKWIBA
….Everybody wants to know who the presidential candidate is.
UNITED Kwacha Alliance (UKA) national chairman Sakwiba Sikota says there is anxiety among members to know who is going to be selected as presidential candidate for the 2026 general election.
Mr Sikota, who is United Liberal Party (ULP) president, said once the flag-bearer of the
alliance for the 2026 polls is selected, an announcement will be made.
“Everybody is anxious to know who it is,” he said in an interview.
“I understand the enthusiasm and desire by people to know. But we shall let you know.”
During a radio appearance last week, UKA chairperson for communications Jackson Silavwe said the alliance will not be bullied to announce its presidential candidate for the 2026 general election.
Mr Silavwe said the selection of a presidential candidate should be done through consensus and mutual respect.

Everyone where??
Actually we are not anxious at all.
Please stop lying.
We are just waiting for UKWA to field the sole financier, the self destruction candidate who doesn’t even qualify to stand.
Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The problem in Zambia isn’t with Voters but politicians. Every political party president wants to be chosen to contest 2026 presidential seat.We can’t liberate our people if all of us want to lead.Unless we face reality to say this person has real popularity and adopt and support that individual, UKWA won’t go anywhere. Among all party presidents in UKWA, who is that individual considered most popular currently ? MMD in 1991 could not have defeated KK ‘s UNIP had they chosen a non popular candidate .Chiluba was a household name in Zambia so he was marketable…Reflect…do not take chances, main objective is to liberate Zambians, not self service….be realistic or else you will miss the target and it will be a missed opportunity
