TRUMP RENAMES LAKE ONTARIO TO LAKE AMERICA
Donald Trump has signed an executive order to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. The change takes effect immediately.
The move comes after trade talks between the US and Canada collapsed last week. Trump has imposed 50 percent tariffs on billions of dollars worth of Canadian goods. Canada has responded with dollar-for-dollar counter tariffs.
Trump said the renaming was something he has been thinking about for a long time. He told reporters he had filed all the necessary paperwork.
He said Canada has been ripping us off for a long time on trade. He called Canadian officials nasty people.
This is Trump’s second waterway rename. Last year, he changed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Soon he will sign an order renaming everything
His wife will become Wife America.
Canada will become Americanada.
He will start feeling like Christopher Columbus II, the founder of Lake Ontario and the Strait of Hormuz.
The man who cannot control global shipping is renaming lakes. The man who cannot end his own war is rebranding geography.
If Trump can rename a lake to punish a trade partner, what stops him from renaming other shared waters. And if Canada refuses to accept the change, what is the point of the order.
