Trump Says Iran War Will End Soon as Reports Warn of Possible New US Strikes After Midterms
US President Donald Trump has said the war between the United States and Iran will end soon, raising hopes of a possible de-escalation as diplomatic efforts continue.
Speaking to Kansas City radio station KCMO on October 30, Trump said the conflict would be wrapped up soon, while reiterating that Washington requires guarantees that Iran will never acquire nuclear weapons.
However, a separate Associated Press report said US officials had warned regional allies to prepare for the possibility of renewed military strikes against Iran following the November 3 midterm elections.
According to diplomats briefed on the warnings, potential operations could last several days, with concerns that Iran could retaliate against energy facilities and critical infrastructure across the region.
Trump has not made a final decision on further military action, while diplomatic efforts involving Qatar and other regional intermediaries continue.
The conflicting signals highlight growing uncertainty over whether the conflict will move toward a negotiated settlement or another round of military escalation.
