TRUMP TORCHES OBAMA: WHITE HOUSE IS A SYMBOL OF AMERICA, NOT YOUR FAILED LEGACY
President Trump unloaded on Barack Obama after the former president spent the weekend mocking White House renovations and comparing the decor to “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”
Speaking to reporters, Trump looked into the camera and fired back. “For YOU to say it’s a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a LOUSY president!” He added, “He’s not a smart guy.”
Trump defended the work as basic upkeep of a national landmark that had been left to decay. “To President Obama — the WHITE HOUSE IS A SYMBOL OF AMERICA. IT HAS TO BE CLEAN. The columns can’t be broken!” He continued, “It has to be painted and the exterior plaster can’t be FALLING OFF!”
He argued that Obama’s indifference to the condition of the building mirrored how he governed. “The way he ran the country, only a STUPID person. We have to EXPLAIN to Obama that the White House is a SYMBOL OF AMERICA.” Trump said men like Obama “don’t see dirt. Doesn’t see filth. Doesn’t see broken ornaments on a building.”
The contrast is sharp. While Obama sneered at gold accents, a privately funded ballroom, and other upgrades meant to restore dignity to the People’s House, his own presidential center in Chicago has drawn mockery for its massive concrete design. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who stopped at a Cheesecake Factory, put it bluntly: “This is the man who built the museum and it looks like Darth Vader’s tomb.” Bessent invited the “Martha’s Vineyard set” to try the restaurant themselves.
Trump has framed the renovations as restoring a world-class standard the country deserves. Obama’s weekend jabs, delivered while stumping for Democrats, treated the White House as just another punchline. Trump treated it as the symbol it is.-DTP
