Two Helicopters Collide Near Mount Everest Base Camp, Indian Tourist Killed and Three Injured

Two helicopters collided while attempting to land near Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal on November 3, killing an Indian tourist and injuring three other people.

The accident occurred at the helipad in Pheriche village, in the Solukhumbu district, at an altitude of approximately 4,200 meters.

The aircraft, operated by Fishtail Air and Air Dynasty, reportedly collided as they approached the landing area, with their rotor blades striking each other.

A 47-year-old Indian tourist was killed in the incident. A New Zealand passenger and two Nepali pilots were reported injured, with rescue teams transporting casualties for medical treatment.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The accident occurred during Nepal’s peak autumn trekking season, when helicopters are frequently used to transport climbers, trekkers and rescue teams across the high-altitude Everest region.
