U.S. Orders Iranian UN Delegation to Leave New York After Talks Stall

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered Iran’s delegation to the United Nations, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to leave New York after U.S.-Iran talks broke down on Monday, according to Axios.

Qatari mediators attempted to bridge differences between the two sides and reach an understanding, but no agreement was reached.

Araghchi’s delegation departed for Doha several hours later, although sources familiar with the matter said the foreign minister had already been scheduled to leave New York that evening.
