Uebert Angel offers US$2 million to settle Wicknell Chivayo’s verified debts

Zimbabwean preacher Uebert Angel has offered to help settle verified debts linked to the late businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

Angel announced his pledge during a church service on Sunday, 25 October. He said he could contribute up to US$2 million towards legitimate outstanding claims.

The offer follows reports that three car dealerships are pursuing millions of dollars for vehicles supplied to Chivayo.

Angel explained that his family had also benefited from the businessman’s generosity. However, he insisted that creditors must provide evidence before receiving any assistance.

Uebert Angel Sets Conditions for His US$2 Million Pledge
Angel reportedly told his congregation that he would only consider claims supported by proper documentation.

His proposed contribution will not automatically cover every alleged debt. Instead, claimants must demonstrate that Chivayo owed them money.

Reports by Tuko and My Zimbabwe News indicate that Angel has also arranged meetings with people seeking payment.

Meanwhile, the financial position of Chivayo’s estate remains an important consideration. Officials must establish his outstanding liabilities before determining how legitimate claims will be handled.

Chivayo died in a helicopter crash near Marondera on 30 September 2026. His wife, Lucy Muteke, and four other people also died in the crash.

Angel’s announcement has attracted attention because of his longstanding relationship with the businessman. Chivayo reportedly gifted the preacher’s family luxury items, including a Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Following Chivayo’s death, Angel described him as a close friend and family member. His latest pledge could therefore provide assistance to creditors if their claims meet his requirements.

Three Car Dealerships Reportedly Owed US$5.1 Million
The reported dealership debts total approximately US$5.1 million. Enterprise Car Sales, Exquisite Cars and Faramatsi Motors have been linked to the outstanding balances.

Enterprise Car Sales reportedly claims US$1.3 million. Exquisite Cars has been associated with US$1.4 million, while Faramatsi Motors reportedly seeks US$2.4 million.

However, questions remain about some transactions and the amounts involved. The reported claims have not all been accepted, and certain circumstances remain disputed.

Chivayo became widely known for giving luxury vehicles to musicians, footballers, religious leaders and other public figures. Reports suggest some vehicles were supplied under deferred-payment arrangements.

Consequently, his death has raised questions about settling outstanding balances. Creditors must establish their claims as the administration of his estate progresses.

Angel’s pledge has also sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users questioned why he announced the offer publicly during a church service.

It remains unclear how many creditors will satisfy his conditions. The final outcome will depend on the supporting evidence and the assessment of Chivayo’s outstanding obligations.
