UKRAINE DESTROYED MORE THAN 4,600 RUSSIAN AERIAL TARGETS IN AUGUST
Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed more than 4,600 long-range aerial threats during August while neutralizing over 50,000 additional tactical drones above the battlefield.
Among the confirmed interceptions were:
▪️25 Kh-101 cruise missiles
▪️One Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile
▪️Eight Kalibr cruise missiles
▪️21 Kh-59/69 guided missiles
▪️Four Iskander-K cruise missiles
▪️Five Onyx anti-ship missiles
▪️101 S8000 Banderol missile-drones
▪️1,876 Shahed-131/136 attack drones
▪️1,460 jet-powered Shahed-238 drones
▪️1,031 reconnaissance UAVs
Ukraine also neutralized 820 Lancet loitering munitions as part of the wider fight against more than 50,000 tactical-level drones.
Air Force aircraft completed over 1,900 sorties during the month. More than 1,400 provided fighter cover, while approximately 300 delivered strikes and supported Ukrainian troops on the ground.
The most concerning figure is the 1,460 jet-powered Shaheds. Russia is deploying faster attack drones in growing numbers, forcing Ukraine’s pilots and air-defense crews to operate almost continuously.
Yet every missile or drone destroyed represents something more important than a statistic: a building that may remain standing, a rescue crew that can continue working and Ukrainian lives that may be saved.
