UKRAINE: FLAMINGO CRUISE MISSILE STRIKES MOSCOW REGION
Ukraine reportedly used its new FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile during a large-scale attack on Russia involving more than 1,000 drones, with strikes reported across the Moscow region and against several strategic facilities.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian oil and logistics infrastructure was targeted. The Moscow Oil Refinery, one of the capital’s major petroleum facilities, was reportedly hit, triggering a large fire.
The Flamingo, developed by Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, is reported to weigh around 6 tonnes and have a range of up to 3,000 kilometers, based on figures provided by the company and analysis by defense specialists.
Russian authorities reported at least three deaths and dozens of injuries in the Moscow region following the attacks.
If confirmed, the operation would rank among Ukraine’s largest long-range strikes against Russian territory.
