Ukraine Strikes Two Russian Oil Refineries in Long-Range Attacks
Ukraine has carried out long-range strikes against two Russian oil refineries over the past 24 hours, targeting facilities in Bashkortostan and the Samara region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces also carried out strikes in the Black Sea as part of the latest wave of long-range attacks against Russian targets.
The strikes extend Ukraine’s campaign against Russia’s energy infrastructure, targeting facilities that play a role in the country’s fuel production and wider war economy.
Zelenskyy praised the Ukrainian units involved and said the attacks were intended to bring the war back to the territory from which it originated.
The full extent of the damage at the two refineries and the Black Sea targets has not yet been independently verified.
