UNSUCESSFUL Independent presidential candidate Masuwa Kalabi says he will formally complain to the Electoral Commission of Zambia over events which followed his failed filing of nomination papers.

On Thursday, May 20, 2021, Electoral Commission of Zambia Chairperson Justice Esau Chulu advised Mr. Kalabi to write to the commission by 21st May 2021 detailing his grievances for consideration after he failed to meet the required 100 members threshold from each province.

In an exclusive interview, Mr. Kalabi says he drafted the letter on Friday 21st May 2021 and submitted to his lawyers for review.

But Electoral Commission of Zambia Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga says having failed to formally appeal to the Commission on 21st May as advised means Mr Kalabi is out of the Presidential race for the August polls.
