UNZA economics president wants Zesco to further increase tariffs

The University of Zambia Business and Economics Association (UNZABECA) President Bob Hang’andu Cheepa has warned that the failure by Zesco to charge cost-reflective tariffs for electricity will lead to financial instability and hinder the country’s economic growth.
In an interview with Daily Revelation yesterday, Cheepa said the lack of cost-reflective tariffs meant that Zesco was incurring losses, leading to financial instability and hindering the company’s ability to invest in new power generation projects.
