UPND ABANDON PROMISES IT MADE PRIOR TO THE 2021 ELECTIONS – CHARITY MUSAMBA

By Correspondent Reporter

DEVELOPMENT Activist Charity Musamba has charged that the UPND government is deviating from the promises it made to Zambians prior to the 2021 general elections.

Dr. Musamba says although the UPND government took over leadership when the country was not performing well, they have not done much to improve things.

According to news monitored on Radio Phoenix, she said that it is easy to tell that they are deviating from the path that gave Zambians hope and expectations.

Dr. Musamba has cited the failure to govern the country based on the rule of law and the silence on constitutional reforms.

She explained that the UPND has also failed to urgently completing the review of the constitution to ensure that the country is governed by a constitution that stands the test of time and people driven.

Dr. Musamba said all such promises the UPND made have been abandoned.

She has since reminded the UPND that Zambians voted them into office because of the promises made of bettering their lives which must be fulfilled.

But UPND Deputy Secretary General Gertrude Imenda says the UPND led government is on course and has not deviated from its campaign promises.

Imenda said the party has prioritized issues that are of great concern such as improving the economy and job creation among others.

She explained that statutory reviews cannot be easily changed as they involve long consultative processes which cannot be done within a short period of time that the UPND has been in office.
