UPND GOV’T IS TOO LIBERAL ON CHRISTIANITY – SUMAILI
Former Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Godfridah Sumaili, has called on government to demonstrate stronger political will in safeguarding Christian morals and values in the country
Speaking when she featured on Christian Voice’s Chatback program in Lusaka today, under the topic “The Moral Fabric of the Nation,” Rev. Sumaili emphasized the need for closer collaboration between government and the church to ensure that Christian values are clearly promoted and protected.
She expressed concern with what she described as government’s liberal approach to morality issues which are contributing to moral decay in Zambia.
“There is a need for government to be more resolute in upholding Christian values by publicly denouncing vices such as sodomy, rape, sexual perversion, corruption, and other immoral practices,” said Rev. Sumaili.
She further warned that increased liberalism could expose the country to more spiritual attacks, undermining the moral and social fabric of the nation.

She was quite when JJ Banda was busy urinating someone’s mouth and she was also quite when PF criminals were busy undressing women. She was also quite when why me was busy insulting the president.Madam you are very useless woman.
Man, well summarised. That’s hypocrisy of the highest order. Suddenly she is able to see the wrongs and yet there were more serious things happening when she was minister .Please save us
Mayo, you presided over a cadre killer mafia organisation and no one was spared. You never saw anything wrong or corrected that. The bible say why see a spec in your brother’s eye and not the log in yours? Start by saying sorry and say don’t do what we did. You have been very unapologetic on the very bad things that Zambians themselves got tired of. For as long as you were eating with them, you saw nothing wrong. Even now, from a Christian point of view, why do you think the Lungu family must not forgive their perceived enemy? Why don’t you preach love and reconciliation to them? Instead you cheer them own to hate more! What a minister of God!
This was for you just to be milking a salary for doing nothing. What are churches meant for? Forget madam lets move on
Ms Sumaili wants some attention from the public as she pontificates about the state of the country. Your former ministry and position was a joke and a mere pig’s lipstick by PF.
A woman without morals and what a pretender masquerading as a God fearing person but rotten to the core. This is a person who sees only wrong things during UPND but never saw anything bad during PF, laughable. You ran that ministry for your own benefit as a PF cadre and you turned your back on the masses when they needed you the most.
She has literally, like Makebi Zulu, shifted to south Africa purportedly mourning with the Lungu family…
Sumaili, if those cadres values are what you call seriousness, you need to repent
Sometimes I wonder., do these former ministers in the PF govt have DEMENTIA..? The tag Zambia being a Christian nation should also be scrapped just like madam Sumaili’s former ministry of religion was scrapped. People can worship in their own homes and churches period and by the way salvation is an individual thing not even your parents can save you. You have to make the truth in the Bible your own.
*lizardmonitor* you did well to help summarize the Rev.
Seriously, Madam, you would well to keep quiet in this matter because you are regarded as an accomplice to the PF atrocities commited during their reign. Give credit where it is due.
UPND is trying hard to sanitizer the political and moral space in this country while your cohorts are busy giving support to the likes of ‘why me’. Counsel your fold to embrace good morals for the good of Zambias cultural morals.
Don’t hide in Christianity which you used as a veil behind evils like gassing, organ harvesting, murders, suppression, segregation on tribal lines and everything evil you can think of.
Once again, SILENCE IS GOLDEN.
