UPND Official Criticizes Kantanshi MP Over Remarks on Energy Issues
By Fredah Chalwe
The United Party for National Development (UPND) Mufulira District Chairman, Dyford Mulwa, has expressed disappointment with Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba for questioning President Hakainde Hichilema’s handling of energy issues affecting Zambians.
Speaking to Mafken News, Mr. Mulwa emphasized that energy matters fall under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Energy, not the President, urging MPs to acknowledge the separation of roles within government.
He highlighted the introduction of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) as a significant achievement under President Hichilema’s leadership, which has empowered MPs to deliver tangible development projects in their constituencies.
He called on lawmakers to recognize the government’s support instead of attributing challenges in the energy sector to the President.
