UPND TO START FUNDING PROVINCIAL, DISTRICT AND CONSTITUENCY ORGANS

By Edwin Mbulo in Livingstone

THE UPND is to start funding its provincial, district and constituency executive organs.

According to a document being circulated on UPND social media platforms each district will also engage a projects officer to guide people on how to fill Constituency Development Fund forms.

“President Hakainde Hichilema has dedicated 2023 as a year for the grassroot…DCs (District Commissioners) will be part of CDF committees. Party structures will start receiving funding. Province, Districts and Constituencies,” UPND document reads in part.

For party mobilisation, the UPND has revealed that President Hichilema has secured 10 motor vehicles for provincial usage.

“The President has secured 160 motorbikes for all the districts in the country,” the UPND documents adds. “No need for Collateral if you want to get a loan from CEEC unless otherwise. There is no way he (HH) can separate himself from the party because it’s the one that sent him to State House. His first year was to clean and fix the economy which he has done. This year is year of action. He will get to the grassroots.”

On the Farmer Input Support Programme, the UPND has revealed that “this will start this month” for the 2023/2024 farming season.

“Start mobilisation now, recruit more people to the party. It’s the only way we can win in 2026. Let’s welcome members from other political parties. Unity in the Party,” the UPND dosier indicated.

When asked if the document was authentic, Southern Province UPND secretary Neto Halabwala responded in the affirmative.
