UPPZ SG JOINS UPND
…as Imenda urges UPND Alliance members to work together
The UPND Alliance has received another boost ahead of the much-anticipated 12th August 2021 general elections as UPPZ SG, Kwalombota Munalula has joined the UPND.
Mr Munalula told the Media during a Press Briefing at the Movement for Democratic Change-MDC-secretariat that selfish interest in the UPPZ had pushed him to dump the opposition political party.
Mr Munalula stated that the hope that the UPND Alliance has brought to the people of Zambia led him to dump the UPPZ, adding that high levels of selfishness in his former party had made it difficult for him to remain the party.
And Mr Imenda Secretary General, Batuke Imenda has called on UPND Alliance members across the country to work together.
Mr Imenda also appealed to UPND Alliance members from both levels of the political parties in the Alliance to embrace the ideology of unity in order to ensure that the Alliance forms Government on Auhust 12th.
And Mr Imenda has hinted that the Alliance has devised a well-thought out plan on how to conduct its campaigns in the wake of the ban campaign rallies by the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ-yesterday.
At the same event, MDC SG, Lucky Mulusa accused Socialist Party leader, Fred M’membe of pushing an agenda of driving the country into a re-run by ensuring that non of the two main contenders (UPND and PF) don’t garner the 50 percent plus 1 votes needed to form Government.
He said Mr M’membe wanted to style himself as the third largest political party in the country so that he was appointed as President Edgar Lungu’s running mate in an event that no political party hits the 50+1 threshold.
