By Alvin Siandabile

A United States Agency for International Development (USAID) administrator has applauded Zambia for moving in the right democratic direction.

Speaking to journalist in Chibombo’s Mungule ward in Central Province today, USAID Administrator Samantha Power said the increased CDF by the local government, will give the community pride to chose community projects they want in their respective constituencies.

The USAID administrator said when the community is part of decision making, projects are likely to be safeguarded and will give them a sense of ownership.

Ms power said the USAID, working with the World Bank, are increasing its funding amounting to US $9 million towards food security in order to increase food security in the country among other social services support and an additional US $30 million funding towards advancing the country’s trade boost program.

She added that her desire is to see Zambia increase its trade boost by connecting Zambian business to the rest of the world for the country’s sustainable development.
