DP OFFICIALS REPORT HARRY KALABA TO THE DEC ON SUSPICIONS OF MONEY LAUNDERING.
Wrangles in the opposition Democratic Party DP under the leadership of embattled president Harry Kalaba have taken a new twist.
DP Vice president Judith Kabemba and his counterpart for Finance Justine Nkonge have now reported Mr. Kalaba to the drug enforcement commission DEC on suspicions of money laundering.
The officials want the DEC to establish how and where Mr. Kalaba got all the millions he was spending before and during the elections.
Mr. Kabemba says it is surprising that Mr Kalaba was spending millions of Kwacha’s on the campaigns but non of that money ever passed through the DP bank accounts.
recently Mr. Kalaba who described the two as bakabudo (small children) said he never abused any party money as all funds used to finance the party was coming from his pocket.
Mr. Kalaba also boasted that the cars Ms Kabemba for instance was from him and wondered how the two would accuse him of not accounting for any party funds
