HIGH COURT REINSTATES MILES SAMPA
MILES SAMPA OBTAINS EXPARTE ORDER
Lusaka-9th February 2023

The Lusaka High Court has restrained the Patriotic Front agents from suspending or expelling Presidential Candidate Miles Bwalya Sampa.
Patriotic Front Acting President, Hon. Given Lubinda recently suspended Miles Sampa for six weeks and restrained him from engaging in party activities after he issued media statements that allegedly disparaged the party and senior members of the party.

But Lusaka High Court Judge, Timothy Katenekwa has also restrained Hon. Nixon Chilangwa and Hon. Given Lubinda from holding themselves as Acting Secretary General and Acting President until the matter is determined in court or until further orders of the court.
The court has also granted Sampa an exparte order restraining the PF from suspending, expelling or taking any adverse action as a Member of the Central Committee until the matter is determined or the court gives further orders.
An interparte hearing of the matter will come up on 16th February 2023.

Sampa has sued the party through his lawyers Messrs Bancroft Legal Practioners and J&M Advocates claiming that the two officials were holding the positions illegally and his suspension from the Central Committee was fraught with irregularities and was unprocedural.
