TROUBLEMAKERS WARNED AGAINST INCITING THE CHURCH
By Darius Choonya
Minister of Home Affairs, Jack Mwiimbu, has directed security wings to thoroughly investigate individuals involved in manufacturing and circulation of fake documents aimed at destroying the relationship that exists between government and the Catholic Church.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Mwiimbu has described the letters as seditious in nature and the people involved must be prosecuted.
Mr. Mwiimbu says government is aware of individuals working with opposition political parties to create a rift between the state and the clergy, particularly the Catholics.
He says to the contrary the new dawn administration enjoys good relations with the church in Zambia.
Recently, social media has been awash with letters purported to have been issued by Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Joseph Akafumba and another signed by President Hakainde Hichilema against the Catholic Church.-Diamond TV
