PELAMPI MOVEMENT TAKES OVER HEROES STADIUM AS FANS CHANT MUNDUBILE’S SLOGAN.
In a surprising turn of events, football fans at Heroes Stadium appeared to turn the football atmosphere into a political spectacle today as they chanted “Pelampi” while lighting up their mobile phone torches.
The chants erupted during the Shepolopolo match, with some supporters appearing to express their enthusiasm for Brian Mundubile, the opposition politician associated with the Toonse Pamodzi Alliance.
The development comes amid heightened political tensions, with the alliance maintaining that it does not recognise President Hakainde Hichilema as Zambia’s legitimate leader.
Meanwhile, the Government, through the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, had cautioned football fans against turning sporting events into platforms for political slogans.
Despite the warning, supporters of Mr Mundubile were heard chanting, “No retreat, no surrender,” adding a political dimension to the atmosphere at the stadium.
The chants have sparked discussion about the growing intersection between football and politics, with Heroes Stadium appearing to provide a platform for supporters to express their political sentiments.

We are not going back to elections, people already voted on 13th August, 2026 and it was over. We have to wait until August 2031 for another election. So shouting per lampi in stadia will not take us anywhere no matter how loud the shouting may be. Moreover, football fans in any particular stadium cannot all belong to one particular party. I believe even UPND members are there or were there and just decided to remain silent. The very party, NURP on which Mundubile stood already kicked him out and is now in alliance with HH and UPND. RP party did the same to Makebi Zulu and is also in alliance with UPND. I don’t know what the shouting of per lampi in a stadium is meant to achieve, in my opinion it will achieve nothing. PF held HH in the same Mukobeko for months but we never heard or saw UPND members shouting in stadia because UPND has always been a very disciplined party. You can continue shouting if that’s what you want but you must remember that even UPND members have party slogans and they too know how to shout and one day you will see how they will outshout you. Just pray that things don’t get out of hand. The President deserves respect from every citizen .
Solution is to sentence mundubile and makebi to long prison period so we can enjoy new music and chimwela in our stadiums. Bottom line nrpup never won the past election, do you really think these idiots would be shouting in stadiums and not even once where the claimed pvt been published in the media, honestly would JJ or mwamba to this date not have authored such. These guys lost an election clean. Not even the ghost was able to help them. The chanting they can chanting their lungs out it doesn’t change anything. Actually the government should buy them speakers to make them even louder.
