dnesday, October 16, 2024 – The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) is pleased to observe the facilitation and transportation of a 50m oxygen plant container, currently being moved by a 63m long truck enroute to Solwezi, the provincial capital of the mineral rich North Western Province of Zambia.

This comes in as a positive response to the statement that the Minister of Transport and Logistics Hon. MUSEBA FRANK TAYALI, MP made when the Zambian Government ratified the WBNLDC Agreement in January 2024.

The Minister announced that the ratification would boost economic development amongst the member countries and beyond.

He further underscored that the ratification would yield benefits such as infrastructure, and private sector participation, as well as contributing ute to the overall development of the region through promoting cross-border trade investment.

This giant abnormal special project cargo, which originated from Malaysia via the Port of Walvis Bay, is destined for one of the mines in Solwezi. It weighs 171 tonnes and is estimated to travel a distance of approximately 2,900km on the Walvis Bay-Ndola-Lubumbashi Development Corridor (WBNLDC).
