WHO IS PROFESSOR ROMA CHILENGI?
Professor Roma Chilengi is a distinguished Zambian physician, epidemiologist, vaccinologist and clinical research scientist with more than two decades of experience in public health and vaccine research.
He has served as Director General of the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) and as Special Assistant to the President on Health, providing expertise on disease surveillance, health security, outbreak preparedness and public-health policy.
Prof. Chilengi has played an important role in vaccine research, particularly in rotavirus, malaria, HIV, cholera and Shigella, and was involved in efforts that supported the introduction of rotavirus vaccination in Zambia. He has also held senior research positions in Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania and has academic affiliations with leading universities.
