WHO STOLE THE MONEY THAT FAITH MUSONDA WAS KEEPING IN THE HOUSE?
The State has cut a deal with Faith Musonda in which she has surrendered the K65 Million and $57,000 found stashed in travel bags and a safe at her New Kasama home.
In addition to that she has surrendered the house and assets of her company OCK Investments Ltd.
It is understandable that the General Public would be furious because they wanted to see her in court and serve a sentence.
But we have to look at the bigger picture.
Faith Musonda was a cornered rat, she had nowhere to run or hide and she was facing a very lengthy prison sentence.
But she was just a receiving beneficiary, Faith Musonda was not occupying any position in government or any position of influence in the PF, neither had she got any traceable contracts with the government.
What this means is Faith Musonda was keeping that money for a bigger thief.
The DEC needs to identify the person who actually stole that money from government and how they did it, who they stole with and how they stole it.
And the one person who can provide and has provided these answers to the investigative wings is Faith Musonda.
She has told them where the money came from and who gave it to her and the investigative wings are now in pursuit of the bigger criminals.
Sometimes you have to let the little mouse go in order to cage the big rat that is giving birth to the little mice.
Make no mistake, the K65 Million is only a small portion of the missing money, there are billions of kwacha in hard currency that are missing and need to be found. -NDC
